چکیده

Abstract Aim: The aim was to evaluate the feasibility of an intraoral stent (10 and 20 mm thickness) in radiotherapy tongue cancer, measure reduction acute mucositis palate. Materials method: There were six patients intervention group, seven control group. Target coverage measured by minimum dose covering 98% clinical target volume (CTV). Data collected from planning CT daily cone-beam computer tomography (CBCT). Impact of intraoral stent on the side effects of radiotherapy for oral cancer.

BACKGROUND The intraoral stent is a mouth-opening device which may be used during head and neck cancer radiotherapy with the intention of preventing unnecessary irradiation in normal adjacent tissue. The use of this device during intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) has not been reported in the literature. METHODS A 30-year-old woman with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue was subm...

Intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) induced key molecular pathways in tumor bed of breast cancer patients: a pilot study

Background: Radiotherapy (RT) is recommended to all patients undergoing Breast Conserving Surgery (BCS). Two strategies can be applied to irradiation, External Beam RT (EBRT) in addition, Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT). The aim of this study was to introduce a protein biomarker panel related to molecular function of IORT. Materials and Methods: Six Breast Cancer (BC) patients as a pilo...

Rehabilitation of an Auricular Defect Using Surgical Stent

Reconstruction of a facial defect is a complex modality either surgically or prosthetically, depending on the site, size, etiology, severity, age, and the patient’s expectation. Loss of an auricle, in the presence of an auditory canal, affects hearing, because the auricle gathers sound and directs it into the canal. The auricle acts as a resonator to slightly amplify lower frequency sound...
